Dear Church Family,
Please read below for this week's announcements from Shady Grove:
- Join Shady Grove Church on March 27th from 2:00-3:30pm for a Walk-Through Easter Egg Hunt! This free, family-oriented event will be hosted on the church property at 1675 Harold Patterson Rd in Dandridge. To keep our event as safe as possible, individual families will walk together around the church property to play games and hunt eggs. Bring your Easter Egg baskets and your family members and come have fun with us!
In the case of rain, the event will be moved to April 3rd. Follow us on our King's Kidz or this event page for updates.
If you would like to volunteer to help at the Easter Egg Hunt, please let Ashley know.
-We are continuing to collect eggs and candy for our Easter Egg Hunt through March 21st. Please read below for Easter Egg Hunt details. You can bring the eggs, preferably stuffed, with you to church on Sunday or drop them off during the week. Please make sure the candy is peanut free. Call Ashley at the church if you have any questions.
-The Children’s Ministry will be hosting monthly events for families through July of 2021. The event for March will be a Mission Project Day and will be held this Saturday, March 6th from 12-2pm in the Fellowship Hall. We will be engaging in child-friendly mission projects and a time of fellowship. We ask that you wear masks and social distance during the event. As these events are family-focused, Mrs. Ashley asks that parents, grandparents, or guardians come with each child who attends. We can’t wait to see you there!
-Jason is conducting a short video series during Lent. The videos will be posted on Facebook on our Shady Grove United Methodist Church page.
-The Guy Penrod concert has been postponed (again). It will now be held September 3rd at 7pm. Tickets are selling on itickets.com. If you have already bought tickets, you will still be able to use them in September.
-Next Sunday, March 14, is UMCOR Sunday. This yearly collection helps fund the administration expenses of the United Methodist Committee on Relief. When we give to a specific emergency (tornado, flood, hurricane, etc.), 100% of our money goes directly to that emergency. Please give with a generous heart.
-Pastor Jason’s Pastors’ Support Group, comprised of pastors from FUMC Jefferson City, FUMC White Pine, Oakland UMC and SGUMC, is jointly collecting items to take to Jefferson Park of Dandridge residents. We will collect through Palm Sunday.
Bring any of the following items to the church:
Lotion, T-shirts (esp. UT, caps (esp. UT) , jewelry, picture frames, items like small pictures to hang on wall, knick-knacks to set on shelves, nail polish, snacks, or throw-blankets.
Thank you for supporting this joint venture in addition to our mission projects here at Shady Grove.
