Hello Church Family!
Read below for this week's announcements from Shady Grove:
-We will continue to meet for outdoor worship this Sunday at 10:30am in front of the church. Please bring a lawn chair and/or blanket and your mask. A golf cart will be available to transport those who need extra assistance from their car to the front lawn. We hope to see you there!
-King's Kidz (ages 5-11) will continue to meet in the lower parking lot on Wednesday evenings from 6-6:45. Chairs will be provided, but please have your children bring their masks. We can't wait to see the kids again! If you have any questions, you can contact Ashley Wren at email@example.com.
-The Children's Ministry's Chalk the Walk event will be held September 12, 2020 from 9am-11am. Join us as we decorate our church parking lot with beautiful chalk drawings! Due to COVID-19 restrictions, each family will be asked to bring their own chalk and will be assigned parking spaces to decorate that will be spaced for social distancing. We are also asking that families wear their masks. This event is open to everyone in the community, so tell your friends and neighbors! We can’t wait to see everyone!
-Our Guy Penrod concert has been postponed until November 8th at 4:00. If you have bought tickets thru itickets.com, please contact them. They know of the change and will be happy to help you. We hope and pray that we will be able to meet in November to see this wonderful concert. If, not, it will be postponed once again. Thank you for your patience.
-Food for Kids at Piedmont School: We are again supplying weekend bags of food for hungry children. This will go through the end of this school year. You can help by either purchasing food and dropping it off at the church Mondays-Thursdays, 9am-3pm, or by sending a monetary donation. It costs $3.50/bag or $140.00 per week to feed 40 children. Items must be in Child Friendly Containers. Ravioli, Beanie-Weenies, Peanut butter crackers, Oatmeal packets, Fruit & Grain bars, Fruit cups, applesauce, Mac & Cheese Cups and Pudding cups.
-An update from the Church Trustees - The church’s exterior doors have been re-keyed. The office door now has a combination lock, and this door will become the main entrance to the church during non-worship hours. Team leaders – if you or someone on your team needs access to the church, please contact Ashley Wren. The office door combination will be changed periodically for security purposes.
-We want to gratefully acknowledge a memorial gift from our long-time member and friend, Evelyn Jenkins, who recently moved to Gallatin, Tennessee, to be near her son Jeff and his family. Evelyn writes:
“I wanted to send this offering as a remembrance of Ray & his family. They all had been very active in Shady Grove through the years and loved it very much.
·Ray Lynn Jenkins (Evelyn’s husband)
·Odell Jenkins (Ray’s mother)
·Sedette Jenkins (Ray’s dad)
·Lloyd Jenkins (Ray’s uncle)
·Paralee Jenkins (Ray’s aunt)
·Everette Jenkins Brooks (Ray’s cousin)
The first time I had seen his family was at the Christmas Program in 1959. His Great Uncle and Aunt were Mary and Joseph, his Mom and Virginia Lindsey sang a special and his Dad was seated just across from us.
Hope all is well and miss seeing everyone. We are doing OK considering everything that is going on. May God’s blessing continue to bless everyone.
Evelyn, Jeff and Family”
- Please keep the following people in your prayers: Tim Barker, Frankie Simms, Jeanette Breeden, Charles, Malcolm Cotton, the Van Horn Family, the Bowles Family, the Lane Family, the Miller Family, Amy Graves, Bobby Collins, Christy Bowlin, Hilda Skeens, Jeff Reese, Kyndall DeMaria, Dave Stryker, and Amy Yarnell.
We love you, church family!
