Please read below for this week's announcements from Shady Grove: -The church office will be closed December 31. Please plan your office visits accordingly. -Trustees will meet this Sunday, Jan. 3rd, in King Street at 10am. This is the meeting to elect the 2021 Trustees Chairman. If you are a member of this committee, please make every effort to attend. Thank you. -Weekend Food for School Children: We will be putting together food bags to go to both Piedmont and Mt. Horeb Elementary Schools in early January. There are several items we are low on: Mac and Cheese Cups, Fruit and Grain bars, Peanut butter crackers and Fruit cups. If you are interested in joining us to help pack the bags, please call Ashley at the church office to get your name on our call list -As this year draws to a close, we have had several members ask us about the best places to designate their end of the year contributions. If you are interested in giving an end of the year donation to the church, there are three specific areas we would like to point you towards: the Playground fund for a new playground, the Road Sign fund for a new and updated church road sign, and the Building Maintenance fund for needed projects such as sealing the parking lot. We have such a generous and faithful church, and as a staff we would like to thank you for your thoughtfulness! -Wednesday night programming for kids, youth, adult Bible study, and choir will resume on January 20th. Please read below for this week's announcements from Shady Grove: -Breakfast with Santa: Due to the pandemic, our Breakfast with Santa will look a bit different this year, but we are still looking forward to a fun event! Join us this Saturday, December 19th* from 9:30-11am for a free photo with Santa. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting on the front porch of the church to take a picture with your kids! Each family will get time with Santa for pictures, a pre-packaged breakfast, and a bag of crafts to take home. This event is designed to keep all involved safe and healthy, so we ask all who attend to wear their masks. We hope to see you there! Please read below for this week's announcements from Shady Grove: -Administrative Council Meeting Notice: A called Admin Council meeting to approve the 2021 Church Budget will be held this Sunday, December 6 at 10:15 am in King Street. The budget will be the only item on the agenda. Zoom will be available for anyone not comfortable meeting in person. If you wish to attend by Zoom, email Ashley at assist@shadygrovedandridge.org and she will send you the link. Masks and social distancing are required. We encourage you to attend. Horeb Schools: Thank you for your generous support of this worthy and much-needed cause. Your monetary and food donations are such a blessing! We will be inviting you to volunteer to help organize, package, and deliver the bags to the schools after the Christmas holidays. -Christmas Cards for Jefferson Park Nursing Home: We are asking our congregation to pick up a Christmas card or cards in the Narthex and write a note to show a resident they are not forgotten in this season of pandemic and to bring a smile to their faces. We need 160 cards returned so that every resident will receive one. Sign your cards with your first name only and include “From Shady Grove Church.” Please bring your cards back to the church by December 20th. -As a reminder, Adult Bible Study and King's Kidz will not meet this week and will be taking off the month of December. We will see you in January! -Shady Grove will be holding two Christmas Eve services at 5:00pm and 7:00pm.
