Dear Church Family,
Please read below for this week’s announcements from Shady Grove: -A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped at our Fall-A-Palooza! We had between 100 and 150 children drive through our scenes, and multiple families drove through a second and third time to see it again! Thank you to everyone who was involved; we couldn’t have done it without you! -Missions Announcements: Our Annual Turkey Dinner Fundraiser is going to be curbside pickup only this year. It will be held on Saturday, Nov.14th from 4:30 to 7pm. Cost /plate is $10.00. A sign up sheet will be forthcoming for volunteers to roast turkeys, furnish food, and help serve. In recent years we have collected 400+ boxes of saltine crackers for the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Food Baskets for needy persons and families. This year, because of COVID, they have asked for monetary donations only. They will buy in bulk with the money they receive. We will take donations during November. Please consider giving the amount you would normally spend on crackers for this worthwhile project. We are called, ever more so, to be Jesus's hands and feet during this season of pandemic. God bless each of you. - Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Do you need help in handling the odd and sometimes hurtful comments of others? Are you unsure if the crazy thoughts you're having are normal? Join us Wednesday mornings at 10 AM in the youth classroom for Griefshare. You don't need to talk if you don't want to. Just come, watch the video and listen. It will help; we guarantee it. We will meet you in the evening if necessary. -Appalachian Outreach is collecting gloves, blankets (all sizes), socks, scarves, hats, and 110 heaters through November 13th to give to those in need. If you would like to donate, please drop the items off at 511 Municipal Dr in Jefferson City or mail them to P.O. Box C-N 71904, Jefferson City, TN 37760 (please do not drop them off at the church). For more information, call 865-475-5611. -We will be observing All Saints’ Day on November 1, 2020 at both services. We hope you join us as we remember those who have passed on to heaven ahead of us. -Please keep the following people in your prayers: Tim Barker, Frankie Simms, Joyce Kiessling, Terry Witt, Malcolm Cotton, the Van Horn Family, the Bowles Family, the Lane Family, the Miller Family, Amy Graves, Christy Bowlin, Hilda Skeens, Jeff Reese, Kyndall DeMaria, Dave Stryker, Tabitha Coffey, Mark Gapetz, Foland Family, and Suzanne Guidry.
