The trees have finally turned, and God has painted such a beautiful array of colors in Dandridge. Here at Shady Grove, the change in the weather means we are approaching the holiday season, and we can't wait for you to see what we have in store!

updates

Ballinger Farm
Seventy-six church members gathered at Ballinger Farm on a sunny day in mid-October to hunt for pumpkins and get lost in the corn maze. It was a great time of fun and fellowship!

King's Kidz Choir
Shady Grove's King's Kidz participated in Sunday services twice this month, both singing and signing for the congregation. We are proud of our growing children's group!

Young Adult Small Group
In October, young adults throughout the church met together for dinner to discuss ways to be more involved at Shady Grove as well as ways that they could continue to build relationships with each other. We are thankful for such a dedicated group of young people at Shady Grove!

Fall-A-Palooza
Our annual Fall-A-Palooza was a huge success with over 450 people participating in and attending the event! The trunks were superb this year, with "Dry Bones" winning the trunk contest (pictured above). A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who went out of their way to make this event incredible- we couldn't have done it without you!

On December 18, the church will come together for a Christmas Carol Sing-A-Long. In between songs, our children will be portraying scenes from Jesus' birth narrative. We will be practicing these scenes on Wednesday nights during the fall, so if your child would like to be a part, make sure they attend Wednesday night activities from 5:45-7:30.

                                                                          Volunteers Needed
Ashley Wren is looking for volunteers to help within the Children's Ministry on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. If you are interested in being a part of teaching kids about Jesus or have any questions, please contact her at children@shadygrovedandridge.org or call the church office.

                                                                         Under Construction
Our children's area will be under construction beginning on November 2 as we are creating a bigger space for our kids to gather. Please bear with us while we continue our project throughout the winter.

                                                                        Volunteer Recognition
This month we would like to recognize Renee Salyers, who leads our Middle School Group. Renee joined us in 2018 and is an integral part of the success in our youth program at SGUMC.  She has taken on a different role within our youth program this year, working directly with our 6th and 7th graders. Renee’s ability to connect with them has allowed our youth to have fun while learning about Jesus. We would like to thank Mrs. Renee for all she does for the Ignite Youth program.

                                                                               Carnegie Hall
The Chancel Choir is getting more excited every day for the upcoming trip to sing at Carnegie Hall. We will be part of a larger choir that is privileged to sing Mary McDonald and Joel Raney’s “Sing Christmas”. We are leaving on the 13th of November and flying to New York. Friday and Saturday will be spent in rehearsal with the composers. The final concert is Sunday, the 17th at 8:30 PM. Afterwards, we have a dinner to attend. Sunday will be spent in rehearsal with the orchestra and sound checks in the hall. What an opportunity for this small- but mighty- choir! They are hard working and very dedicated.
