Fall is finally here! It is still 90 degrees, but there is a cool-down coming, along with some exciting events at Shady Grove! Before we look at what's coming, let's look at where we have been.

updates

Picture
Youth Bonfire
Last month, our youth came together for a bonfire where they hung out, played tag, ate, and gathered around the fire to roast marshmallows.

Rummage Sale
On September 13 and 14, our church hosted a community wide rummage sale with items donated by church members. Nearly $6,000 was raised from this event to go towards children and youth projects. We would like to thank everyone who came out to help, with a special shout-out to Charlotte Griggs who organized the event. Thank you, church, for your help in making the rummage sale a success!

Family Magic Night
On September 28, local magician Jason Mardis put on a magic show for families in our church and community. He did a wonderful job using illustrations and object lessons to present the gospel. Thank you, Jason, and all who helped pull off this fun event!

On September 29, they performed a song in both of our worship services. We can’t wait to see what they will do next.

notes from the music department

                                                                               Tween Choir
Our new Tween Choir, consisting of Olivia Steinberg and Gracie Williamson, sang this past Sunday in both services and garnered two standing ovations!  The girls did such a great job leading in worship and singing for the Lord.  You will hear then again soon and, of course, at Christmas.

                                                                   King's Kidz Children's Choir
Our children’s choir will be singing on October 20.  They will sing “Another Sunday School Spectacular,” which is ten minutes long!  Come and sing along to all your favorite VBS songs from when you were a kid.  They will even sing The Ten Commandments, and you’ll be able to sing and follow along with the vibrant DVD track.

                                                                                Chancel Choir
Our wonderful Chancel Choir is still hard at work on two Christmas musicals. The first,  “Sing Christmas” by Mary McDonald and Joel Raney, is the one that will be sung at Carnegie Hall in November. We will perform this musical in a concert here at Shady Grove on December 15th at 4:00. The second, “Love Made a Way” by Mary McDonald and Jay Rouse, will be sung by the Dandridge Community Choir at First Baptist Church on December 8th. This performance will include a full orchestra in which our very own Todd DeMaria will be playing trumpet.
