I have lived in this area my entire life, and although I’ve visited many other places both in the states and abroad, there is no better place to be than right here! I have two wonderful children. My daughter, Julianna, is a sophomore at Johnson University, where she is studying psychology. My son Theron is a freshman at L & N STEM Academy in Knoxville. Both have a strong relationship with Christ. I learn from them every day, and I am so blessed to be their mom!
Aside from working as Children’s Director at Shady Grove Church, I am a high school English teacher at Cocke County High School in Newport. I LOVE my job, and I truly believe helping kids achieve their goals is my calling. I felt led to work with the children of Shady Grove after a friend invited me to assist with helping at Vacation Bible School. I loved every minute of watching their enthusiasm as they learned about our Lord and Savior and just enjoyed being together. I initially started helping on Wednesday nights as a volunteer, never dreaming I would do more, until God placed that calling on my heart. It is such a blessing and not a responsibility that I take lightly. Over the years, there are so many children who have impacted my life, and it was the example of a young lady I taught that ultimately led to my own salvation experience. That is why I KNOW firsthand how important it is for our children at Shady Grove to grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord and Savior! Just like David slew Goliath as a young boy, we have no idea what God has in mind for our boys and girls! Our job is to get them ready for ALL God calls them to do and be. They are not too young to be just the light someone else needs! Contact info: |
